A monthly retainer
The retainer is sized to that scope and covers your everyday legal needs, so a question about a contract or an employee is a phone call, not a new engagement.
One lawyer, every time
You work with David directly. He learns your contracts, your people and your priorities, and the advice gets faster and better as he does.
Matter by matter, if you prefer
If a retainer isn't the right fit, we also handle work one matter at a time, hourly or on a flat fee where the matter allows.

Common questions
What does a fractional general counsel do?
The same work as an in-house lawyer, on a part-time basis: contracts, employment questions, compliance, managing outside counsel and advice on business decisions.
Is that the same as outside general counsel?
Yes. "Fractional" and "outside" general counsel are two names for the same arrangement: an outside lawyer who serves as your company's general counsel part time, instead of a full-time in-house hire.
How is it billed?
Most clients use a monthly retainer sized to the scope of their everyday legal needs. We quote it after a consultation, once we understand your business. Work outside the retainer, and matter-by-matter work, is billed at $495 per hour or on a flat fee where the matter allows.
Can we start with a single matter?
Yes. Many retainer clients started with one contract or one employment question. If the relationship makes sense for both sides, we move to a retainer from there.
