Areas of Practice
We are ideally situated to work as “general counsel” for privately held companies that have regular legal needs, but are not big enough to have in-house counsel themselves. Due to our significant experience in many areas of law, we are able to serve as a one-stop resource for a client’s legal needs. For areas outside of our specialties, we have built a strong network of reputable firms with whom we have longstanding relationships that we can leverage and manage to efficiently and effectively manage your legal needs.
Ideas, tangible or not, are the most important things to protect in today’s competitive market. With so many channels and constantly replenishing feeds to watch out for, tracing the ownership and originality of a design, brand name, or invention needs the laser-focused eye of a trained attorney. We’ll handle the search, application, filing and maintenance of trademarks, copyrights, and patents. And if your idea has been infringed upon, or you require the use of third-party IP, our team will negotiate the best possible licensing and settlement agreements.

FASHION LAW (copyright)
Fashion law is a little bit like the Wild West. There’s a lot of potential, but the rules can seem convoluted and vague at best. Building and Protecting a brand to create equity in the marketplace, or even developing a single, seemingly simple design involves various elements of the law including intellectual property, copyrights, trademarks, and patents.
We advise our clients in a wide range of licensing matters from simple to complex and are able to work from either the licensee or licensor side. We have experience in negotiating compensation structure (royalty or flat fee), exclusivity and confidentiality concerns, territory and timeframe, indemnification agreements, copyright, trademark and patent policing, sub-licensing and drafting and negotiation.
The startup and small business marketplace is still a new and fierce frontier that requires legal advice from attorneys who are deeply entrenched in the particularities of the industry. Our firm gives you a holistic approach, so your company can get the best competitive advantage.
